All of the art originals I have produced in the past four years have been privately commissioned or were drawn for a specific cause or individual. In early November, 2017, I finished "Quark," the first original piece in four years that will eventually go on exhibit and then on to sale. This also is the fourth piece in a ten-piece planned Star Trek series.

Recently, my wife and I watched every episode of "Deep Space Nine" in a row, and Armin Shimerman's performance as Ferengi bartender "Quark" really captivated my imagination. When doing this piece, I tried hard to capture the character's empathy, but also his strict adherence to the Rules of Acquisition. When looking at this piece now, I envision him saying, "I'm truly sorry I have to charge you this much but a Ferengi's got to make a living." :)

Speaking of making a living, I am not offering reprints of this piece for sale. The original is available for gallery display until sold. Please e-mail me if interested.

Technical pens were the mainstay of the designer and illustrator's craft before the development of computer graphics. Now, many art enthusiasts are rediscovering the technical pen because its handiwork stands out almost magically against the bland precision of computer rendered graphics. My work has always been produced with the best technical pens and durable India inks available. The original artwork is drawn on 1/4-inch foamcore board. It ships in a wooden frame (gold colored) with UV-resistant plexiglass. The matte is a flat burgundy color.
This is an art original. It is shipped unframed to locations in the lower 48 United States. Shipping is included in the price. If you would like it shipped framed, add $100 to the purchase price to cover the cost of the frame and shipping.
