This, the last 2017 Jim W. Coleman pen-and-ink original, is a portrait of a friend, Beth - and is the first in a series simply titled "Hair."
Beth posted a photo of herself to Facebook five or six years ago and when I saw it, I just knew I had to draw her. I asked her permission but then did nothing about it for years. Now, the time has come and this piece is finished and ready for sale.
Note: It is very difficult to reproduce the grace and detail of the original artwork due to the severe limitations of photo quality on Yessy.
It ships complete, with a wooden (black) ornamental frame and framer's quality plexiglass with UV protection. The art was done on Crescent hot press illustration board, using four nib sizes of Koh-i-noor rapidograph pens. The art dimensions are 15x19 inches.
This would look great displayed in any home or business and yes, her smile is contagious!
It ships in a sturdy wooden crate. Price includes shipping and packaging.
Technical pens were the mainstay of the designer and illustrator's craft before the development of computer graphics. Now, many art enthusiasts are rediscovering the technical pen because its handiwork stands out almost magically against the bland precision of computer rendered graphics. My work has always been produced with the best technical pens and durable India inks available.
This is an original art piece and ships framed. It will arrive in a custom-built, padded wooden crate measuring approximately 22x25x2 inches in size.
